How to film your swing
Pick one view. Both work; the analysis adapts to what each angle can show. No markers, sticks or calibration needed.
Down the line
- Stand the phone behind you, about 8 to 10 feet back.
- Line it up with your hands, pointing along your target line.
- Phone at about hand height.
- The whole club stays in the picture, including at the top of your backswing.
- Your whole body, head to feet, stays in the picture.
Face-on
- Stand the phone in front of you, across the ball, about 8 to 10 feet away.
- Point it straight at your chest, square to the target line.
- Keep yourself in the middle of the picture.
- The ball and the whole club stay in the picture.
- Phone at about chest height.
For every video
- One full swing, from address to finish. Trim long clips to the swing.
- Keep the phone still: lean it on your bag or use a tripod.
- Good light, and don’t film into the sun.
- Only you in the picture.
- Normal speed or slow motion both work; say which on the upload form.
- MP4 or MOV, straight from your phone’s camera, up to 50 MB.
